Caller ID
Caller ID lets the Caller ID subscriber know who is calling even before picking up the phone. Caller ID is an optional service which allows you to see the date, time, phone number, and name of most direct dialed local calls and some long distance calls before you answer the telephone. When you get a call, Caller ID shows the phone number and name of the caller on a special display unit. A display unit is required for Caller ID. The Caller ID display unit stores the number and name, as well as the date and time of the call. That way if you're not home, or just don't want to answer the phone, the stored information will permit you to return calls. This also works with answering machines or voice messaging systems...even if the caller doesn't leave a message. These Units are available from various retail vendors, including VTCI.
Caller ID Blocking
This allows you to block your phone number form being available to the party you're calling for the duration of one call.
# Dial *67 to activate.
Call Waiting
Don't miss another important phone call. With a tone, call waiting will inform you that there is another incoming call. You can answer the second line simply by depressing the switchhook.
Cancel Call Waiting
Don't worry about being interrupted on a long distance call, temporarily cancel the call waiting feature for the duration of your call.
# Dial *70 to cancel call waiting.
Call Forwarding
You no longer have to sit home when expecting a call. Call forwarding will transfer your calls wherever you go.
# Dial *72 to activate the number you want to forward your calls to, wait for a click and hang up.
# Dial *73 to deactivate wait for the click and hang up.
Three-Way Calling
You can enjoy speaking to relatives or friends at the same time by adding a third party to an existing phone conversation with Three-Way Calling.
# Complete first call, then depress switchhook for dial tone and make second call, depress switchhook again to tie both calls together. Valley Telephone Co-op, Inc. 13
Speed Dial 8
Speed Dial 8 lets you create a list of 8 of your most frequently dialed numbers just by dialing a one digit code from 2-9.
# Dial 74#, wait for dial tone, dial a code number from 2-9, XXX-XXXX (number you want to store, wait for click, then hang up the phone.
# Dial the appropriate Code number from 2-9 that you assigned to reach the corresponding number that you stored in step one.
Speed Dial 30
Speed Dial 30 lets you create a list of 30 of your frequently dialed numbers just by dialing a one digit code.
# Dial 75#, wait for dial tone, dial a code number from 20-49, XXX-XXXX (number you want to store), wait for click, then hang up the phone.
# Dial the appropriate Code Number from 20-49 that you assigned to reach the corresponding number that you stored in step one.
SIRA
Subscriber Identified Ringing Assignment is a second number assigned to the line that will automatically ring twice.
Auto Call Back
Here's an easy way to continue dialing a number that is busy.
# Dial *66 to activate and hang up the receiver, when the other party becomes available, the phone will ring you back.
# Dial *86 to deactivate.
Auto Recall
Don't worry if you walk in and the phone stops ringing, use Auto Recall to return the call.
# Dial *69 to dial last number that called
Selective Call Rejection
Selective Call Rejection gives you the capability of rejecting a list of numbers that you create or the last number that called you.
# Dial *80 to activate
Distinctive Ring
Distinctive ringing gives you the ability to select a list of phone numbers that you want to prioritize with a special ring. This feature also gives you a distinctive call waiting tone for the same listing. Dial *81 to activate
Selective Call Forwarding
This feature allows you to create a list of numbers that are to be call forwarded to another number.
# Dial *83 to activate.
Selective Call Acceptance
This feature will accept only specific numbers that you have selected on a list.
# Dial *84 to activate.

Toll Control with Pin#
Now you can control your long distance calls with this feature that only allows the individuals who have access to the Personal Identification Number (PIN) to make toll calls. The following steps will allow you to insert your own PIN.
# All PIN numbers start with a PIN Code of 7777#.
# To enter your own PIN# dial *12, 7777# then insert your new four digit code followed by #.
# Then repeat new four digit code followed by # to verify.
# To make a call, dial *13, XXXX (your personal PIN) and the # sign.
Customer Originated Trace
COT allows you to initiate a trace of the last incoming call. By dialing the activation code after a nuisance call has been received, you can have the calling party's number printed at VTCI which may only be retrieved through the Sheriff's Department. Should the situation be an emergency, call your local law enforcement agency. If the number cannot be traced, an error announcement will be received. There is a charge for each successful Customer Originated Trace (COT).
# Hang up, pick up receiver and get dial tone.
# Dial *57 to activate, & a recording will ask you to dial 1 if you would like to trace the call.
Optional Extended Local Calling Plans
An optional new service that provides customers a choice to subscribe to a local calling plan that allows a customer to call on a one-way basis to selected exchanges for a fixed length of time at a flat monthly rate.
Residential Local Calling Plan
200 minutes -- $10.00 per month
500 minutes -- $25.00 per month
Additional minutes used will be billed at VTCI's regular authorized per minute toll rate.
