In 1999, VTCI was the first in the World to deliver DSL Broadband to 100% of our subscribers. Within the past year, VTCI was the first in South Texas to bring Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH), and the 1st of three in the Nation for IP Prime Video Service Trial.

VTCI is a non-profit entity, and as such, any telephone-related revenues over and above its operating expenses are allocated to its member-owners in the form of Capital Credits. The more telephone services and products the members purchase from their cooperative, the greater the overall profits and the greater the members’ allocation will be.

The cooperative maintains a strong bond with surrounding communities and believes the strength of our communities lies in the education of our youth. As a member of the National Telecommunications Cooperative Association (NTCA), VTCI is able to send students from their communities to Washington, D.C. for the Foundation of Rural Service Youth Tour. Participation in chambers of commerce and support of scholarships for rural students is some of the ways in which VTCI fulfills its responsibilities as a corporate citizen.
